Color Replacement Tool

Updated by Avi Muchnick on 9/6/2008 9:00:38 PM to Phoenix | Comments (2)

Change one color to another in selected areas or across the entire image

Location
The color replacement brush is behind the paintbrush tool, eighth in the Phoenix toolbox. (Or fourth from the bottom.)

How to Use
Use your color picker to select the color you want to replace. This color is now the background color. Then select the replacement color you want for the object. This sets the foreground color. Then...brush away, it's like magic!

Options

Size
The diameter of your brush in pixels

Tolerance
The tolerance option changes how similar certain pixels must be in order to be included in the selection. Specifically, the number is the maximum difference in the RGB Values between the source pixel and the pixel in question. By adjusting the tolerance, you can set it so all the shades in your colored object will be affected, but none of the colors outside the object.
