I'll start posting challenges based on tutorials every other week. These challenges encourage you to follow the progress of a specific technique and give you a place to exhibit your results.

In this challenge, you are to take any picture of an person or object and turn it into a pop art master piece.

Warhol - by Meowza

Pop Art is a movement started in the mid 1950s where popular subjects could be part of the artist's palette. Themes and subjects get pulled from popular mass culture, and pieces where produced using mass production techniques. Pop Art artists blurred the line between commercial and fine art. In this challenge we will be replicating one of the styles of Pop Art that Andy Warhol made popular.

In this tutorial by Meowza he shows you how to create this effect in Phoenix. You can also open his Phoenix file right inside the tutorial. Also, here is a similar effect produced in Peacock.

I'm looking forward to seeing what my students produce - I'm planning for them to try out this tutorial as their introduction to Aviary / graphics software this afternoon.
